Menhir from Knockstapple
The Menhir of Knockstapple (also called Glenmucklach) stands on the northeast side of Knockstapple (mountain), on the Scottish peninsula of Kintyre , south of Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute .
The menhir ( English standing stone ) stands on a rough pasture. It is 3.2 m high and inclines slightly to the east. The longitudinal axis is oriented roughly north-south. The stone measures 1.8 × 0.6 m near the ground and gradually tapers to a height of 2.4 m with a pronounced shoulder on one side. The top is slightly rounded.
