The menhir of Skahard stands about 500 m southeast of the menhirs of High Park , behind a modern house in the townland of Skahard ( Irish An Sceach Ard ) near Caherconlish , southeast of Limerick in County Limerick in Ireland .

There used to be a cillín (grave place for children) nearby and before 1850 workers unsuccessfully tried to destroy the menhir , which still shows the borehole and the consequences of the blast as grooves . The menhir is marbled, conical in shape, is a little over 1.9 m high and 1.6 m in diameter.
