Menhirs of the Indrolles
The Menhirs des Indrolles (also called Alignement de Senlis ) are two menhirs as remnants of a row of stones , which are located in the forest area Forêt d'Halatte north of Senlis in the Oise department in France .
The menhirs have heights of 2.3 m and 1.4 m, widths of 1.5 and 1.15 m and thicknesses of 0.8 and 0.65 m. They were discovered by chance in 1869, hidden under thick vegetation, by Amédée Margry (1843–1921). The origin of the name of the megaliths , which originally referred to a forest department, is unknown.
The menhirs are about 3.25 m apart, west of the D 1017 road.
There is also a Gallo-Roman temple in the forest.
In Chamant, in the southeast, there was an Allée couverte that has disappeared.
