Little Joe 6 was an unmanned test flight within the Mercury program of NASA . The flight was used to test the rescue missile , which was on the non-functional model of the Mercury capsule. The capsule flew around 127 km and reached its summit at 59.5 km. The maximum speed was 4,949 km / h, the maximum acceleration 5.9 g. The payload weighed 1,134 kg.
