Meriç Yurdatapan (* 1972 in Istanbul ) is a jazz singer living in Germany who sings in German, English and Turkish.

Yurdatapan came to Germany at the age of 18 to study architecture, but after completing her intermediate diploma she decided to study classical singing at the Baden Conservatory and to study singing at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, which she graduated with a diploma. Before that, she had won 1st prize at the Jugend jazzt event organized by the Hessen State Music Council.

Her music is influenced by various oriental and European styles. Following the trade journal Jazz Podium , the artist developed extraordinary, appealing and absolutely independent music in a “vital encounter between cultures.” (Klaus Mümpfer) In addition to appearances in various duos and groups, Yurdatapan has also been seen in musicals and in the television series Ein Fall sing for two .

In 2007, Oriental Jazz Live was their first commercially available album in Mainz . The artist had distributed earlier CDs herself.
