Merian pulpit

The Merian pulpit is a platform made of sandstone, from which Matthäus Merian made the large city view of Heidelberg in 1620 . It is located above the Philosophenweg at an altitude of 279 m. The remains of the pulpit were found in 1967 with the help of a surveying reconstruction. The pulpit was restored in 1988 and provided with two information boards.
