Merscheider Scherenweg
The Merscheider Scherenweg is a 6.5 km long circular hiking trail in Solingen-Merscheid , on which the production of scissors from the blank to the finished scissors is shown and explained in 5 stations. At each station there is a colored model of scissors and an explanatory board on which the processing steps are described. The Merscheider Heimatverein planned and implemented the project over two years. The Scherenweg was officially opened on July 19, 2008 at the Stadt-Sparkasse Solingen-Merscheid.

The Merscheider Scherenweg corresponds to the trade of the blade city Solingen , which characterizes the region and is still home to numerous well-known companies such as the Zwillingswerke , Dreizack , Böker , and many more.
Further information on this trade can be found in the Rheinisches Industriemuseum ⊙ in the Hendrichs drop forge between stations 5 and 1.
