Meta Eva Renner ( November 6, 1863 in Neumarkt in Silesia - after 1902) was a German opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
Renner, the daughter of a businessman, began her career as a soubrette and later switched to the coloratura singer. She found her first engagement from 1887 to 1888 in Ulm, then came to Elberfeld (1888–1890), Stettin, Magdeburg, Schwerin (1893–1894), again Stettin (1894–1895) and Düsseldorf (1895–1899). From 1899 to 1902 she was then at the Darmstadt Court Theater . In 1902 she moved to Breslau .
This musically well-trained coloratura singer with a lively mimic temperament was praised for her singing as well as her performance. Her popular leading roles include: "Konstanze" ( kidnapping ), "Elvira" ( Don Juan ), "Raisin" ( barber ), "Anna" ( white lady ), "Frau Fluth" etc.
