Methanolate ion

Methanolates (also methoxides outdated, methylates ) are salts of metal - cation and methoxide anions . The methanolate ion is formally formed from methanol by deprotonation . The molecular formula of the methanolate ion is CH 3 O - . Methanolates belong to the group of alcoholates .
