Methodical exercise series

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A methodical exercise series is a sequence of exercises with increasing difficulty, specified by the teacher, which are selected according to methodical principles. This is to be distinguished from the methodical game series , in which different game forms are used. Due to the strong control by the teacher, the methodical exercise series is part of the deductive design of physical education.

definition

"Methodical exercise series are series of exercises arranged according to methodical principles, which should lead to the learning of a certain motor skill (target exercise) or the acquisition of a certain degree of expression of motor characteristics"

- F. Fetz : General methodology of physical exercise , 1996

procedure

At the beginning of a methodical series of exercises, there can be so-called preparatory exercises with which the necessary fundamentals of movement can be developed. The main part is made up of the preliminary exercises, which should lead the learners towards the goal exercise. They are selected according to the relationship between movements and should be made aware of the learner so that the movements can be transferred to the target exercise as positively as possible.

Principles

Großing distinguishes three principles according to which a methodical series of exercises can be built. With the principle of reduced learning aids , the learning aids presented at the beginning are gradually reduced as the exercise progresses. With the principle of gradual approach , one assumes a skillful movement and gradually works towards the target exercise. If the target exercise or the desired movement is broken down into individual parts, the principle of breaking it down into functional sub-units is applied.
