The MEVACO GmbH is a leading manufacturer and supplier of perforated metal and expanded metals in Europe. The company emerged on December 10, 1997 from the merger of Seidl + Mayer and Sorst. In September 2019 MEVACO GmbH was bought by the RMIG Group.

With 135 employees at 17 locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Great Britain, Hungary and Poland as well as other partners in Scandinavia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and the Baltic States, MEVACO reaches over 20,000 customers all over Europe. The product range is expanded regularly and includes standard products as well as individually configurable products. In 2011 an annual turnover of 60 million euros was achieved with 20,000 active customers. The headquarters of the pan-European group of companies is in Göppingen ( Baden-Württemberg ).

The product range is expanded regularly and is aimed at customers from the metal processing industry. It includes expanded metal, perforated sheets, corrugated mesh, welded mesh and accessories for edging and connecting. The products are available as standard items or as individually configurable parts.

history

  • 1867: Wilhelm Sorst founds an art and building locksmith's shop in Hanover.
  • 1875: Anton Seidl and Carl Mayer start production of perforated metal sheets in Regensburg, including for metal floors for drying malt in breweries, so-called malt kilns .
  • 1901: Sorst begins with the industrial production of perforated sheets.
  • 1945/46: Production resumed after the factories of both companies were destroyed in the Second World War. Seidl + Mayer also founds a branch in Kirchheim / Teck.
  • 1962: Seidl + Mayer moves from Kirchheim / Teck to the newly built plant in Schlierbach.
  • From 1989: Seidl + Mayer expands sales in Germany and Europe. There are branches in Switzerland (1989) and Austria (1995), among others.
  • 1997: Sorst and Seidl + Mayer merge. As of January 1, 1998, the new company will operate under the name MEVACO GmbH.
