Mexico Cup
The 1985 Mexico Cup was a small international soccer tournament held from June 2 to June 15, 1985 in Mexico , the host of the 1986 World Cup . The games took place in the capital, Mexico City , all at the Estadio Azteca . The specialty of the tournament was the division into two competitions - Ciudad de Mexico Cup & Azteca 2000 Tournament - whereby the last game of the Ciudad de Mexico Cup was also the first game of the Azteca 2000 tournament.

The tournament served on the one hand as a test for the world championship in 1986 and, especially, for the European teams to study the difficult and unfamiliar conditions in the host country.
