Miarinarivo is a city in the center of Madagascar . It is 60 km as the crow flies ( 89 km on the RN 1 road ) from the capital.

The small town belongs to the province of Antananarivo and is the capital of the Itasy region . A Catholic mission has existed since 1933, and since 1955 the place has been the Catholic bishopric.

The place is located on a hill in the highlands of Madagascar, covers an area of ​​eleven square kilometers and has about 15,000 inhabitants. The current mayor is Andry Narivony Raveloson.

A few small places around Miarinarivo, including the touristic town of Ampefy , around 15 kilometers away, claim the title of the geographically central location of Madagascar.

As the administrative center of a region, many of the employees are state employees - namely 75% of the workforce. Two bank branches, educational institutions, the hospital, the regional administration and small businesses offer people a livelihood.
