Michael Knoll (RAF member)

Michael Knoll (* 1957 ; † October 8, 1978 in Dortmund ) was a member of the terrorist organization Red Army Fraction (RAF) and is part of its second generation. He died as a result of an exchange of fire with the police.

Life

On September 24, 1978 Angelika Speitel , Werner Lotze and Knoll were surprised by two police officers during target practice in a forest near Dortmund-Löttringhausen. During an exchange of fire, the police officer Hans-Wilhelm Hansen was shot. His colleague was injured. Speitel and Knoll were also shot and arrested. Knoll died two weeks later from his serious injuries. Lotze managed to escape.
