Michael Reif

Michael Reif (* in Lahnstein am Rhein ) is a German choir director and university professor.

After studying school music at the University of Koblenz with the main subject piano and at the Folkwang University , Duisburg department, with the subjects piano and singing, he studied choral conducting at the Saarland University of Music from 1987 to 1990 with the artistic maturity examination.

From 1990 to 1999, Reif was director of the music school in Trier . From 1994 to 2010 he was artistic director of the Gürzenich Choir in Cologne . He has been working at the Cologne University of Music since 1999 , and also heads the music branch of the Rheinische Musikschule / Humboldt-Gymnasium.

He is also the artistic director of the Collegium Vocale Koblenz and has been with the Kölner Kurrende since 2000 .

Since 1995 he has been a regular guest conductor in the Cologne Philharmonic , at the Mendelssohn Days in Koblenz, at the Festliche Musiktage Trier and at the Ascoli Piceno Festival / Italy.
