Michael Sommer (glider pilot)

Michael Sommer (* 1972/1973) is a German glider pilot from Kleinostheim and reigning European glider pilot in the open class. He is active in the FSC Möve Obernau 1951 eV.

At the age of 14 he sat in a glider for the first time.

  • 2010 World Champion in the Open Class at the 31st FAI Glider World Championships in Szeged / Hungary , making him the third glider pilot to have achieved this hat trick (2006/2008/2010).

  • 2012 Vice World Champion Open Class, WM Uvalde (USA)
  • 2013 European Open Class Champion, Vinon / FR
  • 2013 win of the German championship in the open class
