description

The altarpiece is now in the sacristy, but used to be in the middle (eastern) choir chapel and dates from 1520. In the shrine is a carved group of figures of St. Michael in golden armor, who holds the sword over the dragon. The insides of the wings show half-reliefs, so top left: Mercy for the poor and the suffering , bottom left: the rich man and poor Lazarus . Upper right: the Last Judgment , lower right: Hell . The work comes from the workshop of Hans Beuscher . The predella shows the Last Supper .
