Mikhail Arkadyevich Svetlov
Mikhail Arkadyevich Svetlov ( Russian Михаил Аркадьевич Светлов * June 4 . Jul / 17th June 1903 greg. In Yekaterinoslav, Russian Empire , now Dnipro , Ukraine ; † 28. September 1964 in Moscow ) was a Soviet writer .
Svetlov was a member of the Komsomol and a volunteer in the Russian Civil War . He was the author of the popular ballad Granada (1926). In the 1930s he wrote several plays. During the Second World War he was a war correspondent.
Svetlov died in Moscow in 1964 and was buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery.
