Michail Aslanowitsch Pogosjan ( Russian: Михаил Асланович Погосян , born April 18, 1956 in Moscow ) is a Russian aircraft manufacturer . He was general director of Sukhoi and the United Aircraft Corporation (OAK) and is the current rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute .

Career

In 1979 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Aircraft Manufacturers of the Moscow Aviation Institute and began his career in the design office named after Pavel Osipovich Sukhoi . He began as a designer and engineer and then held the positions of first deputy chief designer (1992-1998), chairman of the board of directors of the design office (1995-1999) and finally the general director of the Sukhoi design office (from May 1999).

On January 31, 2011, he was named general manager of United Aircraft Corporation until he was replaced in January 2015.

On June 16, 2016, he was appointed rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute.
