Michel (patrician family)
The Michel family of sword Schwendi was originally from Burgdorf Dating Bernese patrician family that since 1446 the burgers right of Bern possessed of society means lion and the guild society to forging belonged and 1742 extinct.
Mentioned for the first time in 1422, they employed three mayors in Burgdorf in the 15th and 16th centuries. A Berchtold acquired the Bern citizenship rights in 1446 and joined the Grand Council in 1455. The family provided several Bernese bailiffs and two councilors, Wolfgang and Beat Ludwig (1580–1630). The latter, Herr zu Kehrsatz and builder of the castle there, became Venner zu Schmieden.
