Michel Host (* 1942 in Belgium ) is a French writer.

Host was a high school teacher and taught classical Spanish literature of the Golden Age (and translated, among other things, Luis de Góngora ). He lives in Paris.

He received the Robert Walser Prize in 1984 for his novel L'Ombre, le fleuve, l'été and the Prix ​​Goncourt in 1986 for the novel Valet de nuit .

He was a critic for the Revue des deux Mondes and Regards and co-founder of L'art du bref.
