Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician

Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) is a certificate offered by Microsoft which certifies technical competence in the field of IT support. In addition to this, it serves as a helpful addition in the job market to make it easier to get a job. It is particularly aimed at employees in a call center or help desk who provide first-level telephone support . To obtain the MCDST certificate, two compulsory exams must be successfully passed:

  • Exam 70–271: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System
  • Exam 70–272: Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Microsoft Windows XP Operating System
