Midnight Run is a song by British rapper Example from his third studio album Playing in the Shadows . It was first released on December 4, 2011 along with five remixes on iTunes . The song was produced by Feed Me . Remixes have been made by Flux Pavilion , Wilkinson, Sheldrake, Funkagenda and Wideboys.
Music video
The official music video for Midnight Run was first published on YouTube on October 21, 2010 , and the Flux Pavilion remix was previewed on October 9 of that year. At the beginning of the video you see Example in a bathtub . He goes into hiding, but imagines to appear next to an island. He drives across the island in a car to a house with a woman. He enters and approaches the woman. Then he emerges from his bathtub again. The camera pans into the sink, Example reappears in front of the island. The scene is repeated, but behind his car he sees a motorcycle driving. The woman is sitting in the car and is talking to him. Suddenly another man appears in the passenger seat . He appears again in the bathtub. Various scenes are shown in his head. At the end of the video you can see an aurora above the house . The clip was shot in Iceland . The video was directed by Adam Powell.

The single was moderately successful, reaching only 91st place in Australia, 30th place in the British Top 75 and sixth place each on the UK Indie and UK Dance charts.
criticism
Amy Jo McLellan of gettothefront.co.uk said that Example shouldn't be ashamed of making pop music because that's where his talent lies. Five out of ten possible stars were awarded. Jayde Samuel from music-news.com thought the track was a "catchy tune" and explained that the rap part brought the song to its climax after two minutes and 55 seconds. He awarded four stars out of five.
