Tenement building Lindengasse 2

Lindengasse 2 in Dresden

The tenement house Lindengasse 2 in Dresden was built in 1901 by Felix Reinhold Voretzsch in Art Nouveau style. The sculptural, naturalistic design of the portal with tree trunks and foliage was remarkable. The building was destroyed in the air raids on Dresden.

The stately, palais-like tenement house was built as a closed construction with a sandstone facade. The Art Nouveau designs could be recognized by the architectural ornamentation, the grilles, the blind cladding and the glazing. The portal was elaborately designed in the architectural sculpture. There tree trunks and foliage were worked into the portal edging.
