Migas (German "Krümel") or Migas de Pastor ("shepherd's style") are a Spanish and Portuguese traditional farmer or shepherd dish in which old white bread is used as a side dish or as an independent main course.

To do this, the bread is broken into small pieces and mixed with strong meat stock , garlic and, if necessary, other spices such as paprika , to create a crumbly mass. This is then roasted with more or less oil in a pan, stirring and “chopping up” the mixture with a wooden spoon until the mixture is browned. In Spanish supermarkets, migas are also offered with ham or chorizo pieces as a ready-made meal .

Migas are prepared in different regions of Spain and can contain different ingredients such as grapes, melon, anchovies, cucumber or bacalao .
