MigraMar - Marine Research and Conservation Program (stands for Migracion Marine ) is a network of scientists and scientific institutions in Central and South America with the aim of researching the migration paths of marine animals . The network investigates the migration paths of shark , turtle and pelagic populations in the Eastern Pacific .

Hammerheads were equipped with satellite transmitters as part of the project . MigraMar also works with ultrasonic transmitters whose signals are picked up by submarine buoys. The program is coordinated by the Universidad San Francisco de Quito .
