Mikel Alonso
Mikel Alonso Olano (born May 16, 1980 in Tolosa ) is a Spanish football player .
Career
The Basque played one season with English Premier League club Bolton Wanderers before returning to Spain to his hometown club Real Sociedad San Sebastián for the 2008/09 season . There he did not get a chance under coach Juanma Lillo and moved to CD Tenerife in January 2009 in the Segunda División . With Tenerife he celebrated promotion to the Primera División. In the 2011/12 season he played for the English third division club Charlton Athletic and is currently active for the Spanish third division club Real Unión Irún .
The defensive midfielder is the older brother of the Basque soccer star and former Spanish national player Xabi Alonso from Bayern Munich .
