Micronucleus

In contrast to the much larger macronucleus, a micronucleus or micronucleus or small nucleus is a nucleus in unicellular organisms such as ciliates or some foraminifera , which is used exclusively to control generative processes in the cell, e.g. B. in the process of conjugation .
