Microvibration

The irregular contractions of individual muscle fibers in the skeletal muscles of homoiothermic animals are called microvibration . They make an important contribution to the heat production of these animals. The Austrian psychologist Hubert Rohracher discovered them by chance in 1944 during electrophysiological studies on the central nervous system of humans .
