Milica Paranosic

Milica Paranosic (born May 10, 1968 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian-American composer and music teacher.

Paranosic studied at the Belgrade University of Music and at the New York Juilliard School of Music , where she has been teaching music technology since 1995. She is the manager of the Music Technology Center , director of the mentoring program and co-founder and producer of the electronic and interactive music festival Beyond the Machine at the Juilliard School. She is also head of VisionIntoArt , a multimedia production and performance team and a member of the Trio D'Divas .

Paranosic's compositions include instrumental concerts, multimedia works, ballet, drama and film music. In her works she uses musical instruments, human voices, electroacoustic sounds and objects on an equal footing. The ensembles and artists who have performed their works include a. of the New Juilliard Ensemble and the Juilliard Dance Department , the New York Choreographic Institute , the conductor Joel Sachs, the flautist Margaret Lancaster , the pianist Kathleen Supové , the violist Martha Mooke and the violinists Mari Kimura , Tom Chiu and Airi Yoshioka . Paranosic has won the ASCAP Plus Award several times . a. awarded the John Erskine Prize , the Meet the Composer Grant , the October Prize of the City of Belgrade and the Stevan Hristić Prize .
