description

The farm is isolated around three kilometers northwest of Langholm near the west bank of the Esk . The farmhouse was built around 1870, probably based on a design by William Keir . The associated farm buildings are partly more recent. The south-facing front of the two-story building is three axes wide. Openings as well as the building edges are set off from the plastered facade with ashlar stones. In the middle, a round arched portal with a final window leads into the interior of the building. An eaves cornice runs beneath the slate-covered gable roof . On the left, a flatter shed goes off to the rear. It has an elongated floor plan and closes with a slate-covered hip roof . To the north of the farmhouse are the stables, consisting of two nested L-shaped buildings. Your masonry is made of natural stone.
