Milo Aukerman (born January 1, 1963 in Lomita , California ) is best known as the band leader and singer of The Descendents .

The band recorded the album "Milo Goes to College" in 1982, named for the fact that Aukerman was starting college at that time. He took a break from the band from 1987 to 1996 to obtain a doctorate in biochemistry . During this time the other Descendents musicians were active in the band ALL . Aukerman now lives in Newark (Delaware) , which is an organizational problem for the band.

Aukerman and the Descendents have had an undeniable influence on the development of pop punk throughout their careers .
