Mimoza Ahmeti

Mimoza Ahmeti (* 1963 in Kruja , Albania ) is an Albanian poet.

Life

Ahmeti studied Albanian language and literature , and later scenic writing at the Academy of Arts in Tirana . She graduated in "Information Systems" from the Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch , Switzerland. She joined the Albanian Writers' Union in 1990.

In 1993 she published the novel Arkitrau . With the collection of 53 poems Delirium , she gained fame in 1994 and received numerous positive reviews. Since then she has been a freelance writer and has also written short stories and articles. Ahmeti took part in several Albanian music festivals and brought out a series of nudes. She heads the Marin Barleti publishing house .

Ahmeti lives with her family in Tirana . Her books have been translated into Italian, French, English and German. In 2001 she was a candidate for the Democratic Party in the local elections in Tirana.
