Mincha

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The afternoon prayer in Judaism is called Mincha ( Hebrew מִנְחָה) . It is one of the three prayers offered daily by religious Jews . The time for performing the afternoon prayer is only set to the extent that it has to take place at the earliest half an hour after half of the day - halachic noon - and, if possible, before dark.

On fasting days and on the Sabbath , the Torah is read during Mincha .
