Mine search

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mine search means the search - in a broader sense searching and disarming or clearing - of mines , both of landmines as well as by sea mines .

Mines are often laid as a mine barrier (also minefield or mine carpet).

The search for sea mines is carried out with anti-mine vehicles :

  • Minesweepers
  • Mine clearance boats
  • Anti-mine drones
  • Barrier breaker
  • Mine hunting boats
  • Mine diving boats

The landmine search is carried out with an armored vehicle (" mine clearer ") and / or a mine plow .

People looking for mines and defusing or deliberately detonating them are called 'mine sweepers' or 'mine clearers'. They also defuse duds .

The mine search is carried out with a metal detector and other aids. See also dud # search .
