Mini combined heat and power

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The mini cogeneration (Mini-CHP) comprises in comparison to the micro-CHP the slightly larger region of the combined heat and power plants to 50 kW el . This results from the Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27 / EU (forerunner was the CHP Directive 2004/8 / EG) and the Combined Heat and Power Act , both of which make a distinction from this limit onwards.

Another name-setting component was the Federal Environment Ministry's first stimulus program , which from September 1, 2008, in addition to promoting the CHP Act, provided a further incentive via an investment subsidy for systems up to 50 kW el , but expired in August 2009 due to a lack of funds.

advancement

Since April 2012, mini-CHP systems up to an electrical output of 20 kilowatts (kW el ) have been subsidized again. In 2012, around ten million euros have been earmarked for this in the federal budget and around twenty million euros in the coming year. On January 1, 2015, the mini-CHP funding will be increased significantly as part of the amendment to the mini-CHP stimulus program.

In addition to nationwide funding, there are local programs by municipalities and regional energy providers that support mini-CHPs. These include, for example, the Schönau electricity works, the Karlsruhe municipal works, the GASAG, but also various natural gas suppliers and heating oil suppliers in Rhineland-Palatinate. In Munich and Hanover, grants are available from the city, in Saxony there is funding from the Sächsische AufbauBank, and North Rhine-Westphalia offers its own stimulus program.
