A minimum thermometer is a special thermometer for measuring the lowest temperature in a certain period of time.

The functional principle of a minimum thermometer is that a colored glass stick is enclosed in an alcohol thread and remains at the lowest temperature.

The minimum thermometer is part of the standard equipment of a weather hut, as it is used by weather services worldwide , in addition to maximum thermometer , dry and wet thermometer.
