Minority front

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Minority Front (MF) is a South African party. It was founded in November 1993 and claims to represent the interests of all minorities in South Africa. In fact, however, the MF is a party of the ethnic group of Indian origin, which is mainly based in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in the greater Durban area . Accordingly, this province is their stronghold, while it is meaningless in the other provinces. In addition to the protection of minorities, the party addresses well-known South African problems such as the spread of AIDS , unemployment, poverty and others. From the founding of the party until his death in December 2011, Amichand Rajbansi was the chairman of the Minority Front.

In 1999 the MF moved into the South African parliament for the first time, increased slightly to 0.35% in 2004, only to lose a third of its electorate in 2009.
