Miranda (Carabobo)

Miranda is a small town in the southwest of the Venezuelan state of Carabobo in northern Venezuela .

It is not far from the Caribbean coast and is the seat of the district of the same name ( Municipio ).

history

In the eighteenth century, Spaniards settled in the Onoto Valley. The region became part of the canton of Montalbán.

The Onoto Valley was renamed the Miranda Valley when it was declared Parroquia on December 7, 1849 .

economy

Agriculture is the city's main source of income. There are a number of haciendas in the area, where citrus fruits (oranges, mandarins, lemons), vegetables, cassava, legumes, avocados, etc. a. be harvested.

There are also farms that raise cattle and chickens.

Culture

Worth mentioning are the Eleodoro Betancourt municipal library and the Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture), as well as the La Gruta Park.
