Mount Mitake ( Japanese 御 岳山 , Mitake-san ) is a mountain in the area of the city of Ōme of Tokyo Prefecture in Japan . It is 929 m high and carries a Shinto shrine , the Musashi Mitake Shrine ( 武 蔵 御 嶽 神社 , Musashi Mitake-jinja ; 35 ° 46 ′ 58.8 ″ N , 139 ° 8 ′ 57.8 ″ E ).
The mountain is accessed by a funicular and a chairlift from Mitake Tozan Tetsudō .
The mountain is one of a dozen in Japan denoted by the characters 御 岳山 , see Ontake .
