Central land line

As Plateau line one is rail link in Switzerland called. It leads from Olten via Bern and Friborg to Lausanne .

Historically, the connection arose from the Olten – Bern line, which went into operation in 1858, and the Lausanne – Bern line, which opened two years later . In addition, the new Mattstetten – Rothrist line has existed since 2004 , which, together with the Born Line and the Grauholz Line, forms a high-speed line between Olten and Bern.
