Otitis media
As middle ear infection ( otitis media ) clinical pictures are referred to by an inflammation of the middle ear are marked.
According to the course of the disease, one differentiates:
- Acute otitis media

Chronic otitis media
- Chronic mucous membrane suppuration ( otitis media chronica mesotympanalis )
- Cholesteatoma (chronic bone suppuration, otitis media chronica epitympanalis ).
The tympanic effusion ( seromucotympanum ) as a result of acute or chronic tubal catarrh is also counted among otitis media .
