mmuseumm
The mmuseumm , located in Lower Manhattan ( Tribeca ) south of Little Italy near Canal Street in New York City , is located in a freight elevator and describes itself as the “smallest museum in the world”. The museum was founded in 2012 by Alex Kalman and two other colleagues.
History and collections
mmuseumm is a modern museum located in Lower Manhattan, New York City, which deals with its characteristic curatorial style of "Object Journalism". The first two locations are on Cortlandt Alley between Franklin Street and White Street, which is sometimes known as mmuseumm. mmuseumm is dedicated to curating and exhibiting contemporary artifacts to illustrate the modern world. "In no other place does one learn more about our strange presence."
mmuseumm's first wing, mmuseumm 1, opened in 2012 in a former elevator shaft. The second wing, mmuseumm 2, opened three doors further in 2015.
