The Modine Manufacturing Company is a supplier for cooling and air conditioning technology. Founded in 1916 by Arthur B. Modine was founded in 1916 when Arthur B. Modine patented the Spirex cooler for tractors. In 1941 a wind tunnel for vehicles was built in Racine, which is still in use today.

Modine Europe was founded in 1990 and experienced significant growth in 1993 with the takeover of the German manufacturer of heat exchangers Längerer & Reich , which was founded in 1913. Today, more than 45% of total sales are generated outside the USA, with sales of over 500 million euros per year in Europe alone.

About 360 people are employed at the Modine Europe headquarters in Filderstadt , mainly engineers. This is led by the managing directors Klaus Feldmann, Johannes Kuron, Frank Michel and Werner Zobel.
