In addition to professional training for the Brit Mila, Mohalim is also subject to high moral standards: From a Jewish point of view, only those who have proven to have an impeccable way of life and keep the halachic commandments can perform circumcision.
According to information from the Central Council of Jews in Germany (2012), four circumcisers practice in Germany who have both professional and religious training. They were trained abroad.
At the European level, there is the Union of Mohalim in Europe (Union of Mohalim in Europe, UME), founded in 2013 and based in Vienna.
