Mombacher morning

The Mombacher Früh (also: Mombacher Aprikose , Malede ) is a variety of apricots .

description

The tree grows moderately. It is erect with short side shoots and a light crown .

The medium-sized to large fruits are regular in shape. Their skin is golden yellow with red dots or spots on the sunny side. The yellow pulp tastes tender and juicy. The fruit dissolves stones very well. Ripe for picking and consumption: mid to late July. The fruits then ripen for about two weeks.

distribution

Southwest Germany with a cultivation focus in the fruit-growing area around Mainz , where the variety was found as a seedling . In apricot cultivation , the area in and around Mainz-Mombach was the largest contiguous cultivation area in Germany until the post-war period.
