Mon Dieu

" Mon Dieu " ( French My God ) is a song published in 1960 by Édith Piaf . The lyrics are by Michel Vaucaire (1904 –1980), the music by Charles Dumont (* 1929). With Mon Dieu, Piaf was unable to build on the great success of her predecessor chanson Milord (1959), which generated the best-selling single in Germany in 1960 .

There are song versions in which Édith Piaf sang the original in French, but also in English. The song was so well by other singers Mireille Mathieu and Angèle Durand , gecovert , most recently by Elaine Paige in her published in 1994 album Piaf .
