Mondry from Cellettes
Mondry von Cellettes ( French Mondry, Modericus, Mondericus, Mundéric; Latin Mundericus) (6th century) was a Christian saint. Depending on the region, his feast day is celebrated on May 10th or 12th. He is occasionally equated with Munderich von Langres .
Mondry lived as a hermit in Cellettes in a modest cell. Thereto the name Cellettes, formerly reminds Cella Sancti Mundrici so cell of the Holy Mondry was called. A church was probably built over his grave in the 11th century. During the Hundred Years War , the Bishop of Chartres brought his relics to Blois . In 1447 they were solemnly returned in the presence of Charles de Valois, duc d'Orléans and Maria von Kleve . You are now in a reliquary from the ninth or tenth century, a wooden box with geometrically decorated bone plates and iron fittings in the church of Saint-Mondry in Cellettes.
