Monika Rühl
Monika Rühl (* 1963 ) has been director of Economiesuisse , the largest umbrella organization for Swiss business , since September 1, 2014 . She is the first woman to head Economiesuisse.
Life
Rühl studied the history of the Italian and French languages and literature in Zurich. She then completed diplomatic training in Bern, Brussels and Geneva. Before joining Economiesuisse, Monika Rühl worked mainly in administration and as a diplomat. Between 1998 and 2002 she was Counselor at the United Nations in New York, and until she took up a position at Economiesuisse she was Secretary General in the Department of Economics, Education and Research.
