Monoskibob is the variant of skiing for wheelchair users . Instead of ski poles, monoskibob riders use special forearm rests that are equipped with small skis at the lower end. These stabilos are used for stabilization when skiing and for pushing on flat terrain.

development

In 1985 and 1987 an international symposium took place in Engelberg , at which the nations active in disabled sports were represented. For the first time, the monoski bob was presented as a new invention. Japanese and German designers (e.g. Heini Braun) provided the impetus for the development of the new sports equipment. After participating in various competitions, monoski bobsleigh riders were allowed to take part in Paralympic games for the first time in 1988 . The slalom and giant slalom disciplines were held. The 1990 World Championships for physically challenged athletes were held in Winter Park (Colorado) . The mono-skibob riders were represented in large numbers and are now competing in all disciplines.

use

The monoski bob can be used in any terrain and in all snow conditions. The device requires good physical performance . The monoski bob is sprung. Monoski bobsleigh riders use chair lifts by folding up the bobsleigh, and drag lifts can be used by attaching the bracket to the bobsled.
